MST Tokenomics

Detailed tokenomics of MST in a gameplay-first, activity-driven model

GameMaster receives 5% of Market payments at first, then 0%. Only Market payments are burned. Unminted mining is not burned.
Supply model: gameplay-first and activity-driven
MST supply is designed to follow player activity: artifacts, packs, and referral bonuses can keep generating tokens as long as the game is actively played. There is no artificial hard cap or "final" supply target; instead, effective supply is governed by the balance between new emission and the amount of MST that is removed from circulation through in-game burn and spending mechanics. Additionally, each artifact has a finite lifetime MST; once mined out it becomes a Relic and never mines again, capping lifetime emission per artifact.
- When friends claim artifact mining, you receive extra MST: 20%, then 5%, then 0% after day 90. This is extra MST for you — it does not cut their mining. After day 90 new mining shares stop. Unminted mining is not burned.
- Each artifact has a finite lifetime MST that caps its emission; when that total is mined out it becomes a Relic and never mines again.
Burn mechanics and net emission
Whenever players spend MST on core burn and spending mechanics such as purchases of basic elements and packs or special offers on the marketplace, most of that MST is permanently removed from circulation. This is designed to counterbalance continuous emission from gameplay while still keeping MST useful at every stage of the game.
You receive 5% of each MST Market purchase for the first 90 days. GameMaster receives 5%, and 90% is burned. From day 90: your share 0%, GameMaster 0%, burn 100%. With no referrer or MYST2025, 100% is burned from the start (referrer 0%, GameMaster 0%). Earned MST stays available to claim.
- P2P trades, swaps, and other player-to-player transfers do not mint new tokens; they only redistribute existing MST between players.
- Over the long term, net supply depends on player activity: when spending in these burn mechanics outpaces new emission, MST can behave deflationary; when emission is higher, supply grows.
Internal MST accounts
In addition to regular player wallets, Mystic Forge uses a small number of named internal accounts. They are visible to everyone and appear in the MST holdings leaderboard with clear labels.
GrowthFund — ecosystem growth and rewards
GrowthFund is a dedicated reserve used for long-term ecosystem growth and community rewards. It receives a pre-minted allocation of MST, is not used for daily operations, and is governed by public campaigns announced in advance.
- Supports ambassador programs, creator campaigns, tournaments, and special events.
- Can be used for targeted airdrops, retroactive rewards, and ecosystem grants with clearly defined budgets and criteria.
- Distributions are typically subject to vesting or multi-stage schedules rather than one-time instant unlocks, to avoid sudden supply shocks.
LiquidityReserve — strategic liquidity and market depth
LiquidityReserve is an automated market-making account used to provide two-sided liquidity for MST. It exists primarily to make it easier to enter and exit positions, especially in the early stages of the project, and is explicitly oriented towards stabilizing the market rather than speculative trading or pump-and-dump behavior.
- Holds a pre-minted allocation of MST that can be sold when player demand is high in order to meet demand without creating artificial scarcity.
- Pairs its MST with stable assets (for example, USDC) into the MST/USDC pool, strengthening depth for swaps and dampening volatility.
- Automatically places and maintains limit orders on both sides of the order book to ensure consistent market depth.
- Acts as a strategic reserve with a stabilization mandate: its purpose is to support healthy liquidity and market depth, not to aggressively trade against players or maximize short-term profit.
GameMaster — operational budget from fees
GameMaster is the developer-controlled account used for real-world expenses such as team compensation, servers, and ongoing development. It is controlled by the CEO of the project and, unlike reserve accounts, is free from additional tokenomics constraints: once MST arrives there, it becomes the team’s revenue.
- Does not receive any separate premine: its income is fully driven by in-game activity and marketplace volume, not by an initial allocation.
- Unlike GrowthFund and LiquidityReserve, GameMaster is not bound by vesting schedules or stabilization policies; it functions as a transparent revenue stream for the team, controlled by the CEO at their discretion.
Transparency and monitoring
All reserve and internal accounts are fully transparent. Players can verify their balances and movements at any time.
- Addresses for GrowthFund, LiquidityReserve, and GameMaster are published and visible inside the game.
- A dedicated MST holdings leaderboard highlights these accounts with labels so you can always see how much each of them holds.
- Economy dashboards show aggregate metrics such as total emission, burned MST, circulating supply estimates, and market capitalization.
What this means for players
- MST is designed as a gameplay-first token: most of the supply is earned through playing, not by buying into a premine.
- Continuous emission is balanced by aggressive burns on core sinks, so long-term value depends on real activity in the game.
- GrowthFund and LiquidityReserve are explicit, named reserves with clear purposes instead of hidden team or investor allocations.
- You can always see how much MST exists, how much has been burned, and how much sits in each internal account.
